A Colorado native, Andrew Herrold (or Coach Andy) graduated from Wheat Ridge High School and was recruited by Valparaiso University in Indiana to compete as a Division 1 hurdler. He recently transferred to the University of Colorado with an academic focus in English. The youngest on the staff at only 21 years of age, Andy has over five years of coaching experience, having directed CARA track programs as well as Wheat Ridge high school.

Andy was born with scoliosis (severe curvature of the spine) which eventually required surgery that consisted of 22 screws and resulted in 12 fused vertebrae. Determined to not let that stop him, Andy continued on to compete as a Division 1 athlete and still competes today.
