ELDOAs are postural stretches used to relieve compression within the spinal disc that develops from everyday movement. This decompression of the spinal discs are accomplished by creating fascial tension to fix the vertebra as well as contraction in exaggerated range of positions to normalize the vertebra. This is used as a way to create space and balance that is effective for everyone, not exclusive to athletes.

The numerous benefits as a result from daily ELDOA stretching can lead to better overall health, Benefits include:

  • Improvement of joint mobility
  • Improvement of tissue quality (healthier muscles)
  • Improved posture
  • Improved range of motion
  • Injury Prevention and Recovery
  • Reduce Stress
  • Increased Blood Flow
  • Spinal Disc Health

ELDOA stretches can be done every morning, and after every training session. On recovery/regeneration days, ELDOAs would typically be the main focus to the workout. Each exercise would be performed for a period between 45 seconds to 1 minute, increasing in time and sets as the individual becomes more advanced.

The focus will be on LENGTHENING the spine. The stretches are not a passive act, but active with contractions of specific joints, solid holds, as well as controlled breathing throughout.

*These are only a few stretches that can target the specific needs of runners. There are plenty more of stretches that a person can perform with classes around the region to aid as a guide.*
